American Sniper

American sniper is about the most lethal sniper in US military history, Chris Kyle. Chris Kyle is literally the definition of an anti-hero because despite being courageous and brave, he has to kill people to get the job done. Chris grew up in Texas, and had a gun from a very early age. He worked on a ranch and was basically a cow boy. He joined the US Navy Seals in 1999 and spent 10 years with them. He has done 4 tours in Iraq and has over 160 confirmed kills. Sadly, Kyle was killed on a shooting range by a marine who suffered from PTSD back in 2013.

The main reason I believe Chris Kyle is an anti hero is because of the way he had try and be a hero (he is a hero). If you join the military then you know you are going to have to kill people and that is the decision Chris Kyle made in order to become a lethal sniper. A hero is someone who doesn’t harm people in order to protect them such as if someone is hanging of a cliff by barely their finger tips and you pull them to safety, then that means your a hero. Chris had to shoot people in order for him to be recognised as a hero, but he also done very heroic acts such as pulling people to safety while there is gun fire all around him and carrying on fighting despite having half a wall fall on top of him (an RPG hit the wall and knocked it backwards crushing his knees). In his book it displays him as quite a cocky and arrogant person, but it also portrays him as understanding and appreciative of what other people did. Also he often helped train other snipers in the army and he was happy to go to an platoon that he was asked to go to. In a sense, Kyle was both a hero and an anti hero as he helped people, but the way he went about doing it, made him an anti hero. Finally, Chris Kyle had and still has a massive reputation as being the most lethal sniper in military history and he deserves everyone’s respect as he done a duty and service to his country.

Hamlet: Act 4 Scene 6 Summary

This is a very short scene. Sailors enter and hand a letter to Horatio. The letter is from Hamlet and in the letter Hamlet explains to Horatio that he has been captured by pirates and they want a favour from him. He also explains that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are on their way to England. The Sailors also have more letters for the king. Horatio then takes them to deliver the letters so that the sailors can take him to Hamlet. They then all exit.
